Ah that looks interesting, I might go along to that!

I’m Southeast, not far from East Dulwich.

Yeh at the moment I’m mainly focused on reading/listening because that’s easiest as you say. There aren’t many opportunities for conversation practice when you live here, but I’ll look into that when I feel like I’m at a suitable level.

I might have to sign up to Lang-8 at some point. At the moment I’m using a mix of TextFugu and the JapanesePod101.com website. I’ll read up on individual points from other sources as they come up for more clarification.

初めまして David. How long have you been learning Japanese for? Are you learning for any particular purpose?

I’m at a weird stage at the moment where I know bits and pieces but there are gaps even at the early stages, so I’m working my way from the beginning. Fortunately I learnt ひらがな and カタカナ a long time ago so I don’t have to deal with that barrier. I have a little bit of 漢字 knowledge as well, which is kind of helpful (I’ve signed up to WaniKani to continue with that but I’ve also got a couple of good books on the subject).
