It’s upsetting that all I’m getting from that is a massive blur of sounds and the occasional です…evidently I need to practise listening to things more :P
I’ve been wondering that too…I’ve always assumed it had something to do with porn, but I gather thats not the case…
Apparently there used to be an anki plugin that would randomise fonts to help you learn stuff like this…unfortunately if it’s the one I found earlier all it goes is move the text to different parts of the screen and occasionally make it green…
Don’t suppose anybody knows how to code an anki plugin for random japanese fonts!
Strange way of showing progress but it seems pretty cool. Does seem to have some weird issues with insanely wrong audio (looking at N5 vocab, audio for ashtray plays for radio), displaying characters and appropriate definitions…

Depends. Usually i just mark ‘em right or wrong. If i get it wrong, hit again, get it right, hit good.
Kanji can be easier, since you’re basically remembering a picture and associating it with a word. Vocab IS difficult, your learning an entirely new word and trying to remember it at the same time as other words.
Next time you hear someone say “i got fluent in 3 months” PUNCH THEM IN THE NUTS. Maybe they did, but they are an exceptional case if it’s true.

I’ve decided to protest against the use of the word weeaboo! From now on any and all posts made by me(no matter how infrequent they may be) will end with the word DESU until the injustice against anime fans ends!

If they didn’t put the kanji in it would be the equivalent of having them posting something like
hai. mai naem ees borb! ai ham pleezd too meat yoo.
and you saying, DUDE, THATS LIKE, TOTALLY PERFECT ENGLISH! YOU SEE HOW IT ALL SOUNDS THE SAME AS THE REAL WORDS?!

And it goes without saying all the female characters would have cat ears and all males with have giant robots.
I volunteer to be this pirate-otaku., and i’ll steal meathooks talking skull tattoo idea and replace it with my talking Tomo tattoo…
