Thanks for the advice.
February 18, 2013 at 6:11 pm in reply to: TextFugu Season Completions for Great Motivation of Heart! #38630I’m nearly at the end of season 2 so far, the main thing I’m having trouble with is remembering the readings of kanji, and what the meanings are of some words. Also some of the mnemonics do not make much sense to me, for example 夕.
But I’ve only just started, I hope to improve immensely over time.
“- I always feel like I’m in a hurry. That I must achieve
my target quickly before I burn out.”That’s probably a major part of it, in my unprofessional opinion. I’m struggling to come to terms with that problem myself, but one thing that’s helping is something that’s mentioned right at the start: making a tradition. Let’s say every day you wake up, then study Japanese for a while, go do something else. Or maybe when you finish work / whatever a recurring thing in your life takes place. If you do less per day, it may take a while to reach your “target” but since you won’t be focusing on that, you get closer and closer without realising it.
Now, I’ve only been here for little over a week, but that sort of method has helped me in other things in the past, and I wish you the best of luck.
Ah, thankyou. I was looking for a way to check that earlier. 77.08% learning, 90.38% young
I didn’t realise when I posted that, it only shows the stats for the deck you have highlighted. I think it was on my hiragana deck at the time. I checked again, it’s at around 75-90 for most of them. Kanji’s at around 70.
Oh, I just meant changing my schedule around so I’m not trying to learn 10-12 different words at the same time. Slowing down a bit. I saw somewhere that each season is considered to be around a month or so worth of work, and I’ve crammed the first season and a half in in about a week. Granted, I already understood the basics from when I was 6 (differences between katakana, hiragana, kanji. a-i-u-e-o. desu. etc.)
That’s for Learning. The Young section is at 98%. Is this just based on how long the cards have been in my deck?
It’s gone down to about 71.5%. It was around 96% at first, I click “Again” if I can’t recall both the reading and meaning, I’m going to change my approach a bit, work on it. Thanks for your help.
Yes, I’m just worried I’m not getting enough of it.
SRS?
