I was in the library yesterday and that was I found as well.
I think 生命の起原 is the best. But when I want to say one origin, will it be 一つの起原。or am I completely wrong here?

I have a question and it has been on my mind for a long time now. I’m still very new to Japanese so I hope it is not a silly question.
I’m looking for the correct translation/kanji for origin or source. Specifically I want to translate the sentence ‘one source’. (there is only one source from which we originate). How do I correctly translate this into Japanese? Do I use 源 (みなもと) or 本 or 元？ or is it entirely something else? There are so many kanji out there for origin or source, that I really need some professional help. And Google wasn’t very helpful.
And do I translate it as, for example, 一つの源？

I remember that I noticed that learning many things at once I lost interest. My focus point lies around 5 :’)
When studying hiragana I started with 5 in anki instead of 20. (this way you can guess what it might be. k,s,t-column).
Hearing them over and over until everything was double spacebar.
Than I did the drag-and-drop and after that the Real kana thing.
As soon as my fingers automatically went to the right keys on the keyboard I did 5 more in anki (custom study option: increase todays new cards limit with 5) and learned the new column.
Then again custom study and reviewed ahead one day (now all 10).
and repeat drag-and-drop and on and on and then I knew them :’)Took me 3 hours :3
Good luck though! And if you’re stuck, sometimes it helps to just move on. It’s more important to go on studying then to stuck on this and give up. There will be so much practise! :D

I was a little confused too in the beginning but,
when it comes to kanji you have two decks:
1. Kanji deck (kanji)
2. Kanji-vocab deck (words made of stand alone kanji, two or more kanji or kanji with hiragana).What are you supposed to give as an answer?
1. the meaning of the kanji or the on’yomi of the kanji.
2. the meaning of the word and the way to write it in hiragana/pronunciation.
(if you don’t have this I recommend this post), makes anki-sama real easy!Especially when it comes to stand alone kanji it can be confusing but at the top of the anki screen you can cheat, you can see which deck you’re in.
Now you know if it is the on’yomi they ask of the meaning and the pronunciation of the kanji. (sometimes can be both on’yomi if there is an exception > numbers).Example:
刀 (this is what is asked)
wich deck?
kanji > it asks the on’yomi > と
kanji-vocab > it asks the meaning and the hiragana of the whole word > かたな 、sword (katana)I hope it’s more clear?

Thank you so much, I didn’t quite get what the sub decks in anki meant and the anki site was a bit confusing. (And I just wanted to focus on my Japanese and not the anki part). So I was thinking I was missing out some points with anki and I was a bit scared that it might slow down my learning experience.
