I'm a 20 year old college Junior majoring in English and History with a focus in Eastern Asia. I was born in South Africa but have lived most of my life in Florida. I have been interested in Japan since elementary school when I became obsessed with the anime Rurouni Kenshin. In fifth grade I stumbled upon the manga section in Barnes and Nobles and my obsession grew as I devoured shoujo after shoujo (with a few shonen). Middle school I was a shoujo-otaku. Highschool came around and I slowly moved from anime-manga obsession to jdramas and just a general interest in Japan and its culture and history. Years have gone by and my interest has only grown and next August (2014) I will be going to Japan for a study abroad. Textfugu is helping me get their by helping me focus and make progress on my old goal of learning Japanese. I love baking, cooking, reading, jdramas and history and I do English Renaissance reenactments and work with a professional street acting company that focuses in Renaissance characters.
