I actually hadn’t done ANY Japanese for ages between about June and about the start of last month. But now I’m getting back into and planning to use the ajatt method to just immerse myself in the language. Its certainly going well so far, in about the month I’ve been back I’ve went from just bricking when it comes to hearing any real Japanese to being able to watch and pick up more than half of an average movie (admittedly most of that is probably just stuff I already knew that I’d forgotten in my year hiatus but still) so if you’re not sure on how you intend to continue about learning Japanese, I’d highly recommend AJATT.

Yeah, maybe, but I have honestly never paid a penny for anything on AJATT and I’ve got more out of it than anything I’ve ever paid for Japanese learning related.

Thanks, マーク! I’ve never even payed for something myself off it, and as you might know if you’d went on the website, most of the content is free.

Hi Michael! Good to see you’re still around. How are you going about learning Japanese nowadays?

Thanks for making another of these!

    1. Literally inside, in this context, we or us.

    2. Means want to become 僕は日本語でぺらぺらになろうと思っている。Not really sure if thats gramatically correct, but I think its the right idea.

    3. 事 means a metaphorical thing and やめる could be any of a few verbs, all with the general meaning of stop. I think the entire thing means “the thing of stopping” あゆみちゃんはタバコを煙ることをやめる事にした。 I’m nearly sure that sentence is wrong, but anyway.

    4. for

    5。悲劇

6。I’m going to give this a skip….. I think people have already made good attempts at this, and I don’t think I’d be much good at this.

As for a translation: One of us was saying “I didn’t want to become an otaku, but it seems I am anyway, I can’t help it. Its kind of funny, but for us its tragic.” or something…. I don’t really know whats going on in line 3 and thats sort of vital…

    Currently reading: ハリーポッタと賢者の石。

I’ve already read all the harry potters about 5 times in English, but I felt like reading it again and I saw it in book off in Japan (105円!)

Wow, thanks for sharing such a massive story with us! It must have taken a long time! You have quite a knowledge of AKB!

@Missing After 3 weeks in Japan, I’ve come to realize just how popular Akb seems to be, but I still don’t really understand it. What’s the “target audience”? How did they start? How did you get interested in them? What genre is their music? WHY ARE THERE SO MANY OF THEM!!?

I think the white rabbit kanji cards could be useful for you in future when you finish textfugu.

Actually, with the prices of Apple products in Japan, its cheaper than a computer of roughly equal spec in my country.

I agree they aren’t great for gaming, but I mainly play games on Xbox, and the mac app store will eventually become good for games.

I plan on making an app or two, so thats another reason I bought a Mac. I agree with kanjiman that they have different specialties and it depends what you use the machine for, but I find the mac os more streamlined.

Yeah, Its a bit ridiculous Koichi released an ebook which Textfugu members don’t even get while Textfugu is so incomplete and sparse, and there has been one lesson this year so far (3 months) whereas it says on the about page “1-2 lessons per week”
