It’s a pretty freaky experience. I hope you can have a Japanese dream sometime, missing.
August 10, 2011 at 4:46 pm in reply to: Couldn't find the "studying Japanese in your dreams" thread #15375Man, jkl, I hate to accept your offer, but if you mean that, the email address on my paypal is LMarsR@gmail.com (I think that’s all you need?)
I’ll even pay you back once my school loans come in, if you’d like.
I appreciate it a lot, man.
And if you’re joking: you got me. You got me really good… lol.

“日本語はhard” lol…
You can use the word “むずかしい” for that. :P You can go ahead and add that to your vocabulary. Gratz to you. Haha.
If I may ask, what do you think is so むずかしい about it?
“Terrific”, I say. This is awesome.
Mostly because I have a text file where I log all the Japanese speech audio I’ve listened to, and I hate adding up the times for the log. lol. “There’s an app for that” or hopefully will be, soon.
Also, this japaneseclass.jp thing seems pretty cool. Joining.

What do you want me to work on? #15088Now that Cassandra (I feel like that’s your name. lol.) mentions it, we just need cat videos. No more core content. Take all the core content down, actually, and just replace it all with cat videos.
And replace all the forum threads with cat videos.
Just thought I’d let the thread know: I decided not to take Japanese at school. I actually kicked my ass enough to make myself study more, and I find that I’m learning well enough on Textfugu. Plus, I talked to this girl that took Jap at my school and said it was really horrible. And she’s way ahead of me, in regards to learning Japanese, so I trust that opinion. Plus people have said the same here in the Textfugu forums.

My favorite song from the new Dir En Grey album. If you were thinking about purchasing, please take a listen.
Type 2 n’s for ん
It can be pretty tricky for words like こんにちは where you have to type like 3 n’s in a row. lol.
For small kana like っ you can type it out just like you would in romaji, like in the word けっこん (kekkon) or type an x before typing the small kana. The x thing takes some getting used to. Doesn’t work like “xtsu” you have to type “xtu” to get っ. It’s weird, just screw around with it.
You should be able to change it to カタカナ by pressing Alt + CapsLk, and there should be a feature where you can press the space bar to cycle through kanji conversions (if you want them).
Now, you have no excuse if we see you using romaji again, right うさぎさん? :P
ようこそ

Shame on you and your romaji.
Here’s some instructions on installing Japanese IME on your computer (windows) so you can type ひらがな just by pressing Alt + Shift. Neato.

Go. Go now, and never look at romaji, again. ;P

Oh hell yea. I *am* a hot shot. Nice. ;)
August 3, 2011 at 4:09 pm in reply to: Missing Smart.fm – But … found something SWEET out about Anki #14948Japanese people don’t type hiragana/katakana/kanji the way I do? That sucks. I thought I was a hot shot with my Jap IME.

If you’re using Koichi’s Anki decks, the answers are in hiragana, so I thought I had to type it that way. That’s what I’ve been doing and it works fine.
I’m guessing it would work on the ones with kanji in the same way.

Honestly, I felt like I wasn’t learning as well as I could be with Anki, and this pretty much solved it.
August 1, 2011 at 8:20 pm in reply to: Will be in a car for ~60 Hours. What do you want me to work on? #14812Some kind of brain-control device to force me to start on kanji, since I dread it just after doing the radicals, and haven’t gotten around to actually learning any.
Lol. No, I agree with Kaona/Zkitten, etc. Core lessons I think would be the most beneficial, but the kanji workbook sounds good. Incentive to jfdi (in regards to starting kanji)
Also, Elenkis, I love your picture. Best show ever.

iTunes store has free audio podcasts (all in Japanese) by Konami, Capcom, and Square Enix, if you’re into that. Best studying, ever.
