    On the other hand, I found some motivation to finally add some new words and its been a while since I added a whole lot at the same time. Also seemingly unnecessary words like 登竜門　and 瀬戸際　or 如実

    So yeah, I kinda really want to share this.

    I had lots of trouble with the word 一筋縄 and still only had a vague idea of what it meant after I searched it on google (was not listed on j-j dictionaries). So I decided to just learn it anyway when I found out that its a set phrase: 一筋縄ではいかない。 made so much sense.

    ちなみに, I got this from nakayan’s 非選抜アイドル. Here are my notes.

    一節縄　（ひとすじなわ）
    一筋縄ではいかない

    一筋縄というのは一本の縄です。
    だから一本の縄（普通の方法）では抑えきれないような力などを言います。
    読みは「ひとすじなわ」です。

    この経験を通して分かったのは、ものごとというのは、なにごとも一筋縄ではいかないということだった。

    I would disagree with you. JapanesePod101 does a good job explaining many things I didn’t know and I have used it for serious study. Maybe because its because I have only used the Intermediate lessons? Those are really helpful. And because there is a lot of talking and laughing, it makes the learning more human-like.

    On the other hand Pimsleur doesn’t really teach you anything. It’s more like a phrasebook that was turned into an audio cd and instructs you to memorize them. Which of course, does not work in the real world.

    Pimsleur: お手洗いはどこにありますか？
    Me: 知りませんが、奥さんはかなり裸族ってよく聞くんですけど、後で覗きに行くからどこに住んでるか教えてもらってもいいですか？

    Ok so I figured out how youtube videos work.

    What you need to do is the following

    [ youtube ] ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKhHku18WEE [ youtube]

    Aside from filling the top by backspacing, adding the “h” to the http, and adding the “/” at the second [ youtube ], what is important is that the “ID”, or the thing that gets surrounded by the two [ youtube ] should ONLY be “OKhHku18WEE” and not the actual entire youtube link itself. However for Vimeo, its alright to just copy and paste the link from the address bar.
