I’m finally at the airport and waiting for my plane from Manila to Hong Kong to New York. Read this thread and nearly cried manly tears because I was 感動した which is pretty embarrassing at an airport. The computer I’m using is a terminal so no AKB stuffs just yet, you might see that in 3-16 hours from now.

In my honest opinion, its great that I have a better ability in catching the lyrics now if I just tried harder but while music is great and all, you should really listening that is somewhat similar to conversation. Of course, this does not mean that you should not listen to music, you should because it will keep you sane. For now, type in the username, “ymchanging” without the quotation marks and paste that into youtube and you should get all the radio shows that AKB appear in.

In my experience, all this practice will help to some degree but in the end, you gotta listen to Japanese people actually speaking to each other in real life.

Fortunately, I have a link for you all which has material (with script included) that is representative of legit Japanese conversation.

Oh yeah, I’m David, and I’m 14 years old! C:

EDIT: Would someone mind telling me how to add an icon to my profile? I really hate having a blank face. I think it’s a tad awkward. I just can’t figure it out…

    Hi David, I’m Missing!

OH SH!T YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE. BAGAGAGAGAGA. haha anyways, im 48 years old

    Here’s what you do:

First follow the instructions in the bottom link
    http://www.textfugu.com/bb/topic/forum-how-to/

Then you’ll probably want a profile picture to use. What you do is you go to this site and you find a picture you reeeeeeeeealy like then you make that your profile picture. The pictures themselves will be too big to be avatar but you can manually crop a section of it yourself on the gravatar site.

    2 years and counting.

Btw, here is the 8 minute video of Khatzumoto speaking Japanese http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejRkuX1RGf4 back in 2009

Anyway, while music market for idols is huge, the thing that goes along with their music market are the slew of variety shows that they appear in. “Its more of what they do offstage then what they do onstage”.

I don’t feel like sharing my resources right now just because I don’t feel like it lol. It’s hot and humid here where I am right now even though its night, and I have to wake up very early morning tomorrow.

Tweaking AJATT your own personal way could be more beneficial than Khatz’s way. His posts do have that motivation factor in them too.

I feel like Khatzu puts out this disclaimer everywhere and says that you should just follow your own way but I also feel like many people miss this point. I used to believe AJATT was an all in one solution to learning japanese until I really sat down and planned out my learning strategy

You mix AJATT immersion with idols and you have magic (and/or be able to see fairies at 20 then fly at the age of 30).

Also likewise, just because you live in the country of your target language, doesn’t mean you’re going to learn the language. In fact, unless you are actively studying while you are there, the whole process becomes counterproductive. Just study at home while having fun with whatever you are doing. I can’t believe that I went from watching a raw episode of Naruto with my dad one day and just merely guessing at what was going on to getting a very good idea of whats going in most things in a relatively short amount of time. I’ve never been to Japan once but I’m able to do this much, if you don’t like Khatzu’s method, I just say what I said and it becomes a YOU CAN’T EXPLAIN THAT situation. There’s an 8 minute video of Khatzu speaking Japanese nonstop so whether you like it or not, SOMETHING must have worked

In gigabyte’s situation, he’s just mad busy. On the other hand, I just have way too much free time on my hands.
