You have to ask a Japanese person. That’s what I did so I have my own Japanese name.Koichiからのメール: For names — names have their own pronunciations a lot of times, and they even have their own dictionaries :( But, if you think about it, it’s no different from many other cultures. Most names don’t really mean anything or really relate to much of anything. Sure, they have (old) meanings, but most of the time you have to look up those meanings because you don’t know what they are. Kanji in names just have weird pronunciations, and over time you’ll learn them, especially the common ones. Sorry to not be much help there, but yeah… names can be troublesome… :(
also, there aren’t any new AKB members. if there was, I would have known about it. the latest promoted member (from what I remember) is フレッシュレモン

Lol what, If I were to put it simply he just went to Taiwan for a little while and came back. During his visit, he heard Japanese being spoken which increased his interest to learn. “Gawked at kanji” gives me a O.O kind of feeling- This reply was modified 13 years, 6 months ago by missingno15. Cameron said: my problem I have always had was not really knowing how to pace what I’m doing.
I’m pretty sure you can logically find a middle ground. Like look, I could tell you to do Season 1 in a day. Sounds unreasonable? Ok, then finish Season 1 at the end of 5 years. Neither sounds reasonable.
Also, I think you should pace to yourself according to what you want to achieve. For example, my goal requires me to learn as fast as possible. So I’m trying to learn as fast as possible. This is why I find it important to have interest and goals when it comes to Japanese. (Supposing) Perhaps you want to travel to Japan for 1 year so plan accordingly.
Cameron said: I was hoping since this was being called a textbook that some sort of pacing.
….This is a “self-study” textbook which implies you go at your own pace as opposed to a classroom environment which tells you what to do. Here, one benefit is that since you are learning by yourself, you aren’t penalized for learning slowly or learning quickly. Although, I might add that you may not want to drag on Japanese for more than you should.
But if you want people to tell you what to do, then finish Season 1 in a week. Then finish Season 2 in 3 weeks or less.
