Mac is not worth it in my opinion. Even for graphic design and video editing it’s still way over priced. Out of curiosity I went to look at a Macbook pro to check it’s hardware specs. I within the last 2 months built my first desktop and it cost me less than this Macbook. http://goo.gl/XefEs

Mac can’t do silly stuff like this though. http://goo.gl/n57ZF :D

On the other hand, if I had Mac I probably wouldn’t get distracted from homework so often.

Haha, ok, I’m not used to hearing や as a thinking thing, but makes sense now that I hear it again. But if you think he’s speaking fast there, you should see his regular news blog. http://youtu.be/71d3GBsHYQY Have fun with that.

Also, thanks for the help, even though I didn’t even hear a は in his sentence, it is possible he speaks so fast it’s either hard to notice or he just didn’t bother with it.

I feel kind of stupid asking something that might have a simple answer, but here goes, a video from a blogger I usually watch (though through my current language knowledge I can only pick out random bits) and a part of a sentence he says has me confused.

I know part of the sentence.
    「や今日天気ですね。」
I know it’s about the weather, particularly “todays” weather but maybe I’m trying to get too much out of it.
I’m just curious if 今日 and 天気 together create an individual phrase to represent a certain type of weather.
If he was talking about nice weather I would assume something more like 「今日はいい天気ですね。」

So yep, pretty much I’m just curious if 今日天気 forms a certain type of weather. If it helps to hear it, then it’s around the 10 second mark.

Just out of curiosity, is it just me that can listen to Kana Hanazawa speak 24/7? She’s so soft spoken and cute, sad to say it makes me squeal.

@Yggbert, well that may be true for DVD’s, but North America and Japan share the same Region-Code for Bluray so you shouldn’t have a problem with those either. This is probably because they both use NTSC instead of PAL (Usually the UK and most of Europe use PAL)

No, you have to have a Japanese credit card. Though, demo’s and PV’s (which that Killzone 3 was a demo) are free and don’t require any payment information. Also, when it comes down to buying Japanese stuff for the PS3, I say order it online, that way you actually have a physical copy that you can hold in your hand.

As for my PS3, I might end up getting another one to sell, considering one of my jobs is GameStop and I’m part of the PS RLS (Retail Loyalty), I’m currently entered into a Christmas giveaway containing over $1000 worth of PS3 stuff. Wish me luck in that case.

Biggest complaint I have about the JP PSN Store is that all it contains is games and PVs. No movies or other forms of media (US PSN Store has movies and TV series).

According to the Japanese website, it does have movies and anime and stuff, though the PSN store on my actual PS3 does not have that section when I login to my Japanese account.

Haha, believe me I know, I bought it before one of my Gamestop shifts and started playing it around 10:30PM when I got home… before I knew, it was already 5AM and I had to be at my other job at 10:30AM. This game is dangerous.

@katrina Ólafur Arnalds is a musical genius, though, he is from Iceland, which has some of the best musical talent in the world.

Speaking of musical genius, “supercell” falls under that category in my opinion too, creating the music that Black Rock Shooter was based from (as well as the soundtrack for it) and also doing the soundtrack for the newly aired Guilty Crown. They have the ability to range from soft, to rock, to hip-hop.

I’ve been gone awhile, so now I feel like I’ve made up for myself in this topic with that.

Holy crap. This is the true test for your Japanese. I think Ari can speak even faster than when I first found his videos.

I honestly know the feeling, it’s not so much finding the time, but dragging yourself away from other things. Starting sometime this month I will be working 2 jobs and going to school full time, and for the last week, once the Battlefield 3 open beta started I’ve been playing it almost everyday in between homework and other random crap. I come to textfugu every once in awhile, I at least keep up with my anki decks but it doesn’t seem to stick as quickly unless I sit myself down to study.

I’m trying to find ways to motivate myself to do it but I just seem to stop and focus on something else, there are easily too many distractions in life.
