Oh and in Japan you can buy a Hotdog from McDonalds for breakfast!
That list is pretty good but its not very description of informative and I think I could make a better one. I think I will do so during this holiday ^.^
I had a collection of organised resources but lost it in my last HDD crash, but shouldnt be too hard to remember most of the best places./
Missing should write up a mini-lesson on はず
I can totally understand if you just dont like it, thats way more understandable lol
I think there are plenty of more mature animes. Also why not just enjoy anime and not interact with those people? You’re never forced to, to enjoy anime lol. I don’t think “oh its dumb and childish” is an excuse when theres a huge amount of stuff. Likes like only watching MTV and complaining music these days is garbage. (I hear this surprisingly often…)
Also anime for learning Japanese isn’t bad at all, that image also comes down to “weeaboos” who try to learn solely from animes without any context. Hell Khatz learned plenty from anime, and hes one of the more significant success stories. If you’re not an idiot you’ll be able to see where conversation pieces apply in cartoons and when they’re general language.
Hell I put off learning Japanese seriously for like a year because I didn’t like the association, but I decided If I was serious enough I wouldn’t have that problem, and I haven’t had it so far.
Why not try and change the image by not giving a damn and just doing what you want? If people have a negative view of you because of what you like, then screw em.
Wait..
wait wait wait. So you’re telling me… you let your interests…be determined by the other people who are generally interested in them? You sound worse than the actual weeaboos. Instead of standing up for things you actually like and creating your own image, you go and hide in a corner lest you be associated with them?
I just went through your post again and it seems not once did you actually mention anything about anime itself. Well here’s the problem. Why don’t you give up Japanese as well? Because to be honest, the stereotypical image pretty much applies for Japanese learning as well.
So you made a new thread…to let people ask questions, about a single word? o.o
@Winter: I’m not sure if you’ve heard of him before? Hes actually been posting for a very long time now and is extremely popular worldwide. Thats why I found it so inspiring, because hes done so well all by his own work, including learning Japanese, a lot of chinese and korean as well.
Hes still going to compile all his japanese learning stuff into a post, and he hasnt talked a lot about his upbringing in depth.
Its funny to see how similar his methods were to AJATT, but really, its just obsession, the best tool for learning.
I don’t think Koichi has met Danny.
@Marie: Also in this case, 分かりました! is much more natural.
Awesome, although as you need a sub to post here most people would already have at least a monthly sub, so make sure you post around!
If someone wants to do a definitive RTK info thread with stuff like general outlines , pros and cons, a little faq. I’d definitely sticky it. I wouldn’t mind doing one myself but im pretty busy lately.
Nice thread!
