It’s a wonderful culture. Real pity the way it’s been treated. The village I visited really had a theme park feel to it (albeit very informative). I do understand why the Japanese have done what they did from a cultural perspective; I just don’t think it’s terribly ‘right’ or ‘good’ of them.
