The joys of Lang-8…..any help on some corrections I received please…
- I used に before 来る (but didn’t specify a destination with 来る) and got a correction changing the に to が.
I assumed from this correction that に is only used with ‘movement’ type verbs and the target (or destination in this case) is explicit – is that correct?
- One corrector also changed the 来る to 来てくれ. What’s that all about?

Yeah. I went back to the lessons and read the explanations between the two types of ‘if’ and just confused myself!
However, comparing the two I don’t find the explanations that clear. I had to look elsewhere for clarity.

In that case, using ~たら, would it be more accurate to describe the sentence as:
If the book is interesting then it is easy to read
So Joel, if that sentence is an inappropriate use of と (as if), what would be an alternate, more appropriate way to write: If the book is interesting it is easy to read ?

So, to expand this example, “魚を食べるのが好きです” would be how to write “I like to eat fish”?
I’ve not learnt about こと yet; is that interchangeable with の in this usage?
The stories/hints I come up with for words/kanji are usually obscene….

@Joel – At first it I assumed it was an exception, except that it was happening all the time! Thanks for clarifying.
@mtb – The rule in the lesson says you can convert from masu or dict form. Doing from dict form makes more sense.
