Hello there, thanks for the replies.
Joel – photos? A truckload. Here’s some links:
2005 trip to Tokyo/Kyoto/Nara (includes Tokyo Disneyland and a few exterior shots of the Studio Ghibli Museum – http://www.flickr.com/photos/bonitoclub/sets/72057594050996002/
2007 trip – Same cities with the addition of Osaka – includes some pics from the Fushimi Inari shrine with the amazing Tori gates that go up the mmountain, areas such as Ueno and Asakusa and a little from Takarauzka and the Osamu Tezuka museum. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bonitoclub/sets/72157603394789801/
Zach – I planned ahead for some of the record shops – the excellent RECO-Fan chain and the more pricey Disk Union, but I stumbled across many by accident such as Yellow Pop, Hi-Fi and a some in Kyoto that I can’t remember the names of. Prices were generally pretty good except when you get into the serious collectors market. I filled a lot of holes in my Kahimi Karie and Pizzicato Five collections mostly from inexpensive second hand purchases. There was one shop I wanted to go to called Baby Pop which I eventually found on the 5th floor of a building above a Lawson convenience store – but it was shut. :(
Thanks for the link to the Record Store Guide. I might get hold off one of those this time to take some of the guess work out of it!
