Kyle, mine tells me when I have over 1,000 items due. lol. Have you downloaded the new Anki version? I haven’t upgraded mine in forever and it will say “1,434 items due.” Thankfully right now I’m only at 200. ;)
My update - Trying to get motivated to study again. We had people staying over for four days and I didn’t get the chance to study at all. That led to being 500 cards in the hole and no study time for four days. Plus we are still sleeping on an air mattress and I’m just tired… Trying so hard to persevere but sometimes it seems so hard. And like I’m making so little progress. I was doing good about working on grammar instead of just Anki cards but then I fall behind and feel I have to catch up before I can go back to the grammar. And at this point in my studies, I hate flashcards. lol
Alex – Sounds great! :) I admire your goals and wish you much luck and hard work in attaining them!

Tim, that sounds like a fun plan to reveal your new Japanese abilities. lol. Enjoy!
Congrats, Mark! That’s awesome. :) Are you planning on taking another level in Dec?
Howdy! Welcome to the forums. :) I think studying as an adult makes things easier even though life can be more hectic. We know more as adults and can better manage ourselves. ;)
Good luck with your studies!
~CassandraS.C., welcome! Good luck with your studies. :) I hope you don’t let yourself get unmotivated this time!

Eric,
Japanese and an MBA or law degree sounds like a great combination and a very interesting career. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Hi Eric,
Welcome! What do you want to study in grad school? Good luck with all of your goals!

J.J – I would aim for 30 minutes. You might have to break it down into chunks, like 10 minute sessions between classes or a break between school and work. But 30 minutes a day would be doable and would also keep you moving forward in your Japanese studies.
Good luck with both work and school! I took 18 credit hours (the max they’d let me take) and worked 24-30 hours a week for the first year of my college experience. It’s hard, but definitely doable if you have your priorities straight. :) Good luck!

Welcome back, Kyle!
My most mature Anki card just got scheduled for 4.1 years from now. I find it incredibly ironic which card it is. 肉
私はベジタリアンです。 肉が大嫌いですよ。
Good luck with your thesis. I’m sure the end of the year will come quickly. I read your post to my husband and he started telling me all about the internet debates about database indexing and such. It’s a bit over my head but sounds interesting!
Hi Leetha – Welcome! I’m impressed that your speaking and listening are stronger. Mine is the exact opposite. I think your way is better though! ;)
Welcome and good luck with your studies!
