Hi Mark! What a great time in life to study additional languages. :) Keep up the great work!

Dmitry – welcome! I’m so jealous of people younger than me who know multiple languages already. ;) Yay for you! Keep up the great work!

Welcome, and good luck with your studies! Since you already know several other languages, the process of learning Japanese should come easier for you. :) I hope you find that to be true!

I want to sign up! Alas, I have no debit card at the moment and thus no Paypal. Why do people feel the need to steal your financial information and go on spending sprees on Amazon???

Any chance the discount will still be available in about a week’s time?

The forums have been dead?? on no!

Kaona – You’re going to Turkey! How cool! I’ve only been around the US and to Mexico. :(

Today’s studying – lots of Anki, started back on RTK reviews (yuck), and listened to a lesson on jpod101. Other than RTK overload, I don’t feel like I’ve lost anything from not reviewing the past 3 weeks. Is that a good thing? lol

I am back from my 3 week vacation and now have to get back into the swing of things. Eek! So much to catch up on. Oh, well. I think today I’ll spend 30 minutes working through some of the Anki goals that are way overdue and then listen to a jpod101 lesson. No point in burning out on the first day back. :P

I hope everyone else is doing well! I’ll see about catching up on forum posts over the next few days as well… :)

I’ve been away from the internet for a few days and will be off for a couple more. My mom is getting married today!

I’m going to have a ton of SRS reviews to do when my family leaves on Tuesday…

Hopefully everyone is having an awesome day/weekend/week!

Ya’ll are doing awesome. Rachel – congrats on finishing Season One!

Today I finished the “what you’ll go do” lesson on TextFugu. Also reviewed all cards due in Anki (a lot-274). Kept progressing through the Ultimate Verbs list.

Next week I have family staying at my house for five days for a wedding… I’ll probably just be trying to stay on top of Anki those days and not doing any new material. That starts Thursday… Would it be incredibly rude to ignore family to get in my study time? ;) I won’t ignore them but maybe I’ll get up earlier in the mornings. hmm…

Hey Hashi. Glad to see an intro from you! ;) You and Koichi look like you’re having a lot of fun in the new office.

How’s that cat video coming? ;)

If you need any help with anything, just let me know! I’d be happy to pitch in. Moderating is a breeze as long as no one mentions one or two highly volatile topics. *cough*AKB*cough*

Karnilie – welcome! Your English is good. :)

I think learning Japanese to be able to read the books is a good goal. I agree that translation always loses something! It’ll be great to read material in the original language.

“I always found excuses to not do it” – To be more clear, you could say “I always found excuses to avoid learning” or “I always found excuses to not learn.” :D

Welcome and good luck with your studies!
