Works fine for me on Firefox, it looks like the font has been changed though, so maybe it’s not playing nice with Chrome. (at a guess)

Just stick a couple of SSDs in there when it gets too full.

Edit: Oh and I agree! Sleep helps a lot.

That website starts off really good but eventually you start getting words with 2-3 kanji in them, so as opposed to learning what a single kanji means it quickly becomes 2 or more which gets rather difficult. (on top of remembering the reading) I’m going back into it when I finish RTK, it’s great for vocab indeed and all the example sentences are helpful!

I was doing 30 words a day and the way I did it was 10 words every few hours, 3 times a day. I’d go through them (in blocks of 10) until I got them into my short term memory, then I would stop for a few hours, and get another batch of 10 words in, repeat once more later then call it quits for the day.

It feels like it isn’t helping at all, but after a few days it just started clicking for me. I got through ultimate adjectives and nouns within like a week and a half. It’s quite daunting at first because I had to do around 600 cards a day and that number didn’t really go down for a while. The reason it was so high is because it was a combination of reviewing every ultimate deck (before they got combined into one)

So that’s what works for me, force things into your short term memory, keep up with reviews, after a few days you should be retaining words much better. Maybe anyway!

People that say they learn 100+ a day are liars, that simple. They will be retaining very few of them, that’s not learning, that’s just glancing over a dictionary.

@Larisa Rikaisama has more features, one of the most notable being audio pronunciation when you hover over a word and press ‘F’

My dad uses Chrome on his laptop and I’ve heard no complaints, so I guess you’re part of an exclusive club! You should use Firefox for this alone: http://subs2srs.sourceforge.net/rikaisama/#how_to_install JS!

I wish they’d hurry up and add PDF reading into Firefox, one thing I miss from Chrome…

Read the Kanji has an XP system but I’ve never found myself wanting such a thing when I am trying to learn, if I want to play a game I finish up whatever I’m studying and then and go do that, then later on I’ll come back and resume studying. My main problem is forgetting to disable Steam/Raptr notifications, whenever I see a friend has loaded up Street Fighter IV I get the urge to head on myself.

Aww. I preferred the old table of contents, I was planning to go back and review things and having the pictures/descriptions made it easy to track down stuff I wanted to revise! Are descriptions going to come back by any chance?

A lot of people like JapanesePod101, I guess you can rip a bunch of them to a CD and play them in the car? If your car can play MP3 files then that is even easier!

I’m a bit confused about what it means by general entry, there’s 2 other tickets for sushi awards (or something) and a show (I think) which bring the cost up to around £30. Can I just get the general entry ticket and still see a lot? Also is there stands to get food or is the sushi thing the only option? Not entirely sure!

We can only make Sunday now, she has her IELTS exam on Saturday so that is quite important! I’m getting in around 12:30, if the sushi award thing is the main option for eating I think we might skip that and just go to a restaurant instead, not too sure!

Haha I feel the same way! I’m just going to ignore that stuff as much as possible. I don’t know why but Japanese in romaji kind of annoys me, it looks weird and annoying to read.
