Welcome!
The forums are a bit slow these days because it’s been a while since an update and EtoEto is coming out soon.
I’ve been diving a few times here in Australia on the Great Barrier Reef, never even considered diving in Japan. I imagine there could be some cool historical dive sites thereWanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeI feel this way but I’m only in season 3
Wanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeI don’t know if you’re specifically looking for anime music (I don’t like anime so I don’t know, but I assume it would be easy to find anime music), but my two favourite Japanese bands are ‘Tokyo Shoegazer’ and ‘toe’. Tokyo Shoegazer is a shoegaze band (obviously) so it can be quite hard to understand the lyrics at time. Toe is a post-rock band so mostly instrumental, though they do have quite a few songs featuring singers
If you want to find some Japanese artists I can’t think of a better place to start than finding a Japanese record label. Look up or Google the names of some of these record labels and you should easily find a few Japanese bands. If you’re looking for J-Pop or shitty Japanese Glam-Punk bands check the plain record label pages. For something a bit more interesting and since you said you want to try more things, check out the independent labels page.

http://www.last.fm/homeWanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeI think the moleskine seems really ‘luxurious’ as well. By thinking it’s luxurious it makes me write neatly and put some thought into the way it’s all set out. My photo book is the brown cardboard style you speak of as well. I love the homemade look of it. (Like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GacoqdKjVyE&feature=player_detailpage&list=TLGY_xjYLXoAQMMgF_9cDvrCfQLjWJS7Op#t=73) I didn’t use a book like that as my Japanese book as I was worried the cardboard would deteriorate from constantly having it in my pocket.

Wanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeI write all the crucial points, vocab, particles and anything else I think I might need in a Moleskine journal. It’s nice and small so I can fit it in my back pocket on the way to uni, when I’m traveling or whenever I need to quickly reference it. It’s got a folder bit at the back as well to keep scrap bits of paper to jot down things which is nice.
I love my moleskine, it’s something I carry with me everyday. I pimped it with some safety tape so I can see it easily when I put it down on dark benches. http://postimg.org/image/pisofsjx1/
As for writing I use a pencil because I make a lot of mistakes (especially when writing down kanji).
Wanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeI’m not much of an author but I do like taking pictures (though I wouldn’t call myself a photographer). I’ve got an Instagram at instagram.com/zachradge . I’m in Japan at the moment and for a week or so more so there will be quite a few photos coming :)
Wanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeThat must have been so good, I wish I could have gone to the Wee Waa country show :(
I’m from Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, though I’m moving to Brisbane when I get back from Japan
Wanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeOooo you’re from Wee Waa, were you there when Daft Punk dropped their new album?
Wanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeI didn’t find hiragana particularly difficult but I would learn 10 a day. Personally, I didn’t find Anki to be the best thing to learn it with either, so I used http://unckel.de/kanateacher/index-en.html
After learning hiragana over what was probably 4 or 5 days, later on I was able to learn katakana in one day. So yeah it gets easier
Wanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeI went record bin diving when I was in Japan January 2013. There is some real gold buried in the records bins around Japan.
I’m not sure if you went record shopping last time but, the record shops in Tokyo were really tucked away and often upstairs in a building with little signage. I only found them from digging through google. Apparently this book can be really useful if you’re really serious about finding some vinyl. http://blog.cdandlp.com/2011/02/record-map-japanese-record-stores-guide.html
Wanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeUnfortunately we didn’t have time to tour the whole country this year, so we’re spending only two weeks there. After landing we’re catching a bus to はくば (5 hours north-west of Tokyo), staying in ‘traditional’ Japanese rooms (It’s got an onsen inside the room!). We’ll ski, and tour the country side there for a week before leaving to spend another week in Tokyo and the surrounding areas.
So yeah it should be fun :D. I’ve got tickets to see the sumo wrestling and was given tickets to see snow monkeys from my parents. The only plans I really have other than that is to visit Akihabara and maybe Ginza.
Any other things I must do whilst in Tokyo?
Wanna see photos from my trip to Japan: instagram.com/zachradgeAhhh thanks guys, thought I was going crazy there
